Sic Transit Gloria

What's the price to for glory? It's a question I often ask myself. What is the price to pay for ascension, for greatness, to be? I would like to think that it's worth giving up everything. It's only recently in my life that I've had something to dream for, to live for. The feeling is amazing to say the least. To know my life has a purpose, or should I say, is purpose is something I can never turn my back on. To do so, even in the slightest pains me in ways I've never known. I truly know the meaning of "ignorance is bliss". In spite, of the glory I've known, there are still things in my life that seem to stand to say I will never be good enough. That the things I dream of, I'm not worthy of. That I should settle. It's like all those people in my past have come back to claim to their I told you so's. Things and people that say to that, I'm a fool to believe what I do. That nothing is ever that big or ever that important or ever ...

Going to get this...

Saving up to get this (starving artist :(). So awesome. :D It'll be great for carrying my pencils and sketchbooks rather than my backpack, which is great but a little too cumbersome.

New Rule

If I don't have paint somewhere on my fingers each and everyday, I'm failing as an artist. Fact.

Recycled Materials ;)

I cracked open a couple cold ones today. I've developed some really mint techniques with spraypaint as of late. I'm proud of myself ;). Some people consider spraypaint to be simply acrylic paint. There's no evocation about that but still I believe if you used acrylic paint and spraypaint to create a piece, you can't say it's all acrylic. You would say it's acrylic and spraypaint. As I'm learning each day, spraypaint has its own properties and tendencies. The drying quickness and application, I find, aren't limiting but open up new possibilities for creativity. Spraypaint is my most used medium (for now). My little contribution to this so called global warming. Beautiful things come in destructive packages.

No More Stencils

So, I've decided that I'm not doing stencils anymore. Well, not for along time anyway. I'll probably use them for minor things like backgrounds and little designs. But not for the subject matter. Right now, stencils take up too much time and space. They are too hard to maintain and shelve. I was getting too many commissions to do stencils and had to take hours to make a stencil I would never use again. So, no more stencils for awhile. Though I've never cut myself using those razor sharp blades, I'm sure my fingers are thankful. Be, Konstant
